In eight steps to a house from containers
Short answer: The construction of a house from containers follows a clear process: first clarify building law and floor plan, then select provider, prepare foundation, have modules manufactured in the factory, set up by crane and finally complete connections and interior fit-out. For the module price calculate with approx. 1.500–2.600 €/m².
- Check location and building law: clarify development plan, area classification and permit obligation early with the building authority.
- Define floor plan and module grid: how many container modules next to each other or stacked result in the desired living area.
- Select provider and compare construction and performance description so it is clear which expansion stage is included.
- Prepare foundation: point, strip foundation or floor slab according to building ground and module weight.
- Have modules manufactured in the factory: insulation, windows, electrical and sanitary are installed in advance.
- Organize transport and crane: plan access road, positioning area and if necessary road closure for the delivery.
- Erection: The crane places the modules on the foundation, usually within a few days.
- Complete connections and interior fit-out: electricity, water, wastewater as well as the remaining fit-out work.
